Question: Why Is There No Water Coming Out Of My Faucets??

Possible Causes of Low Pressure

The low pressure may also be the result of mineral deposits in the pipes.

If the lack of pressure is primarily in the hot water faucet, deposits in the water heater may be blocking the hot water outlet.

A more troublesome cause of low water pressure is a leaking or burst pipe.

What would make a faucet stop working?

What Would Cause a Faucet to Stop Working?

  • The Water Supply. If your faucet isn’t running as it should, you should first look under the sink and check the shutoff valves.
  • Blockage. Low pressure is often the result of mineral deposits accumulating in the faucet, pipes, or in the water heater.
  • Clogged Aerator.
  • Faulty Faucet Cartridge.
  • Leaking Pipe.

Why does my faucet stop running?

If your faucet runs from the spout when the handle is in the off position, then a faulty stem or cartridge component is usually the culprit. The mechanism inside a faucet handle, called a stem or cartridge, acts as an in-line shut-off valve.

Why would my water stop working?

Any failure in any component or loss of electricity can cause a well to suddenly stop producing water when a faucet is turned on. The electrical switch at the pressure tank (grey box) is a fairly common cause of failure in the pump/private well water system; so check the switch to make sure it is working.
